Day Meeting Minutes - 10/15/2019

Dave R opened the meeting at the Lake Mills EMS building at 12:20pm and led the group in the Pledge of Allegiance followed with the Four-Way Test.

  • Nicole S - Married 2 weeks ago, TTs Timeout success
  • Ken S - 5k run went so well, picture in the paper
  • Brian B - Vacation in Boston, MA and the colors were amazing, they saw a huge rotarian project rebuilding a park on the breakwaters and he was impressed with the rotary organization
  • Karen - Went with Megs and Ann to see a show at the Overture center in Madison, also greatful for paying clients.  Granddaughter ran chicago marathon and got 10th in her age group
  • Mick - Saturday night at TTs Timeout, 1 year anniversary as chief last week, sons football team is winning and moving on 
  • Mitch - Commend the officials of the packer game
  • Jenn - Sons football team undefeated, daughters boyfriend concussion in football yesterday
  • Greg R - Conference in the dells, a library superintendent had his book at the front desk of the hotel
  • John B - Spent last week in Boston and got a good report from his eye doctor
  • Ann - Great time with Karen and Megs, 5k run on saturday, received a donation from Mary Miller at Coffee Van Go from the 5k coffee sales
  • Ed - All wisconsin football teams, rotary run, TTs timeout

Committee Reports and Announcements

  • 5k Run - Went really well.  It was very cold and windy.  There were 70 runners who paid, with a few no shows.  We expect growth next year.  
  • TTs Timeout - Dave was the bar tender, Janine, Karen, Mick and more helped make it work.  Thank Tina next time you see her.
  • First reading for new member applicant Jenny Macadow
  • Sunday 4pm - Rotary Picture at City Hall.  NEED ALL MEMBERS.  It'll take just a few minutes.  This is for rotary's 65 years
  • $5 T shirts available from the run
  • World Polio Day Thursday the 24th, donut orders due soon
  • Amy - batting cage pits have been dug at rotary park and wallace park.  The cages will be here in november.  Chapter 2 has offered to donate $2000 to the project

PROGRAM
Gail Wolff - the speaker for the day was sick, but Gail Wolff saw her presentation and became inspired to educate others on the topic on human trafficking in Jefferson County.  She spoke to the club about the  an upcoming event:
 
March 12th education event on the topic at 6pm.  This will be a new event and they are looking to make it well attended.
