STUDENT BIOS

My name is Kyle Matthew Doering and I was born in Safford, Arizona, during the time my dad was teaching on the Apache reservation. Six months later, my parents, Matt and Jill, and my two sisters, Cassie and Becca, moved here to Lake Mills. I attended St. Paul in Lake Mills and am now a senior at Lakeside Lutheran.

I played football all four years of my high school career, two years of baseball, and four years of wrestling, for which I serve as captain this year. I participate in A Cappella and Swing Choirs and a member of the Teens for Christ service group. I am also the treasurer of our National Honor Society chapter, which recently hosted a very successful “Tosses for Teens” cornhole tournament that raises both funds and awareness for teen mental health.

In the community, I have taught Vacation Bible School and volunteered in several other ways at St. Paul. I have helped at the Fall Festival and helped host a booth for Relay for Life.

My plans after graduation are to attend Martin Luther College in New Ulm, Minnesota, to go into the pastoral ministry or in elementary and social studies education.

I would enjoy being selected as a Rotarian to learn more about my town. It’s an honor to be selected and a great opportunity to not only learn more about how local businesses run but also learn more about the people that run our businesses.

______________________________
Hi! My name is Lexi Flick, and I am a senior at Lake Mills High School. My wonderful parents are Dennis and Sandy Flick, and I have one older brother, Landon Flick. I enjoy spending time with my family, friends, and dog Bella. I also love movies and being active outdoors. I am a part of several organizations in school, including four years in Octagon Club and ELM Club, and two years in Softball and Volleyball. I am currently involved in LINK Crew, National Honor Society, ELM and Octagon Club. I am an editor for the school newspaper, and this past fall I managed the Tennis team. Both clubs I am in are community and environmental service opportunities. I am a member of Real Hope Community Church and am involved in the youth group there. I also have the exciting job of a staff member at the before and after school program at the Elementary School. My plans after graduating include attending Middle Tennessee State University in the fall of 2020 pursing a career in High School English education. I have been greatly inspired by my English teachers over the years, and I'm a Teacher’s Assistant for my current English teacher Mrs. Mitchell. Through her loving guidance and teaching, and the support of my family, I am excited to start this new chapter of my life. I am honored to be selected as Student Rotarian and am excited to learn more about their involvement in the community and how I can be a part of this positive organization.
