Day Meeting Minutes - June 23, 2026

June 23, 2026

President Anita Martin brought the meeting to order at 12:19pm. Pledge of Allegiance and 4 Way Test recited. Nineteen Rotarians were in attendance, two Rotarians on zoom plus three guests.

Happy anniversary to Karen R. (9 years) and Ed H. (22 years)

Steve Cramer gave his intro speech. 

• Born and raised in Clinton, IA. Married Barb in 1985.

• Worked as CFO, CEO and COO at various companies

• Loves to travel, woodworking, gardening, fishing and hunting

• Retired at the end of March 2026 and has plenty of projects to work on.

• Hopefully will have a lot of vegetables in late summer to share

Awards – 7^th annual recognition. Club started on November 1, 1954. 57 members. Tom V. would like to work on increasing Rotary meeting attendance. He encouraged people to Make the Ask, ask people to attend a meeting and see what Rotary is all about.

Anita recognized Noon meeting Rotarians that recruited new members since July 1, 2026:

Anita had pledged $50 to each Noon meeting attendee that recruited a new member this Rotary year (July 1, 2025 -June 30, 2026.) Tom V. presented a new recruitment challenge. He will donate $50 to Polio Plus, for any Rotarian (day and night meeting attendees) that recruits a new member, going forward for the 2026-2027 year.

Dues:

• There have been some credit card issues with Club Runner

• For those that owe dues for Q4, please pay as soon as possible. If you don’t plan to continue membership, please contact Barb C. as soon as possible.

Storage space needed for chariot and wheel. Please contact Brian B. as soon as possible.

Parade:

• Rotary will be towards the front of the parade.

• Handing out lollipops and bookmarks for 5K run

• Line begins from 9am-10am on East Park Place. Parade begins at 10:30am. Should be done around 11:30am. 

• Smile – Ed H. will be filming parade.

Limping Through Life books are available to borrow. Great read. 

Rotary Social Bike Ride is Wednesday, June 24 at 6pm beginning at Sunshine Brewery. Invite a friend. Make sure to have trail pass and helmet. Route is around the lake.

New Club Runner (Nova) will be turned on this week. Use the same password. Nova is more user friendly.

Happy Bucks:

Ed H. participated in his 50^th class reunion. Many activities were planned for the weekend. 

Thank you to Beth, Dan M., Dan S., and Anita for working on the 2026-2027 Rotary budget. Proposed budget will be included in the announcements that go out Sunday. Read over so that you are prepared to vote on budget at the June 30 meeting.

Board meeting is next Tuesday at 7am at Farmers & Merchants Bank. All are invited to attend.
