Lake Mills Rotary President Anita M. called the Board meeting to order at 7:02am. Members present: Anita M., Barb C., Dan S. Amy L., Tom V., Brian B., Beth N.

Morgan W. from Lake Mills HS and her mother made a request for sponsorship Morgan’s power lifting national competition in Texas. They just started fundraising and have secured $500 so far. Looking for a total of $2,500 for airfare, hotel and registration fees. Information will be distributed at noon meeting.

Financials:
Checking account has a balance of $5,000
Money Market has a balance of $65,000. Current rate has been lowered to 3.82%
Stone Soup Event:
$500 donation given directly to organization
$500 from Rotary to food pantry
$423 to Sunshine Food Pantry
Scholarships:
Looking to change application. Application asks Rotary questions. Number of applications vary from each high school.
Lake Mills HS has an online application. Lakeside Lutheran HS does not have an online application.
Jim W. questioned the scoring system and process. The scoring system could be a useful tool. Needs to be fair for all students.
Because Lake Mills Rotary fundraises in the Lake Mills area, students need to be from the Lake Mills School District.
A total of $14,500 is available for 2026 Lake Mills Rotary Scholarships.
Motion made by Dan S. to refer the proposed scholarship rating/scoring sheet and process to the Scholarship Committee. Second by Amy L. Motion carried.
Motion made by Beth N. to not have a scholarship dinner but have recipients and parents attend June 2 noon meeting or another meeting if possible. Second by
Amy. L. Motion carried.
Library:
Rotary would like to get to the $25,000 level for naming rights. Board will ask membership their opinion on which naming right focus will best fit for Rotary.
Correspondence:
Tanzania water project. Motion made by Amy L. to not do project. Second by Barb C. Motion carried.
House of Peace flyer given to Anita.
Calendar raffle license arrived.
Pet Event:
April 25 at Commons Park
All marketing materials will be given to marketing committee by March 15.
Need 5-6 volunteers.
Blood Drive:
64 pints collected. 2 new donors. 6 deferred. 1 not enough blood.
April 15 is next Blood Drive.
Evening Program:
March 25 at the Grist beginning at 5:30pm.
Pay for your own meals/drinks.
No noon meeting on March 24.
Town and Country Parade:
Handout was given on ideas for handouts at parade.
Donor who provides for the parade can make the decision.
Walkers will be needed for parade.
Concession Stand:
Tonya O. has said the PTO is still in the process of thinking about committing to manning the stand during the spring/summer programs.
Todd L. has volunteered to still shop for the concession stand.
Rotary can give the PTO a list of Rotarians with phone numbers and email addresses so Rotarians can still volunteer.
Will need to follow up with decision.
