PROGRAM-New Member Introduction
Raina Severson Executive Director Lake Mills Area Chamber of Commerce
She has a twin Brother, they were born in Madison. Lived in Rhinelander and moved to Lake Mills when she was 5 yrs. old. She feels the largest impact on growing to LOVE Lake Mills was her experiences as a student at Lake Mills School District.
Raina attended UW-Platteville after graduation and worked at Menards. Due to high expense of college, moved back home. Then she worked at Tyranena Brewery, Waterhouse Foods, The Grist, Menards. She loves helping with events. Free beer was a nice perk!
She earned her bachelor's degree in business communications at Edgewood College. As a senior, she did a campaign analysis of The Main Street Program and helped develop a plan to improve.
In 2020, she started working at McFarland School District and then discovered interim director opening at Chamber of Commerce. She snatched that right up! She was offered full-time position as Director and gladly accepted. She loves it and is so passionate about Lake Mills Community.
Raina has reached out to other chamber directors and found some mentors to help her grow and learn in her new role. The Main Street Program and Lake Mills Chamber are discussing a merger to help support the community and eliminate redundancies. Both have similar goals. Q&A tonight at municipal building at 6 pm to discuss the merger .
