Brian Benisch opened the meeting at the EMS Building at 12:15pm and led the group in the Pledge of Allegiance followed with the Four-Way Test.

- Music In the Mills -made $4800 approx. The post pounder that was donated to the Sons of American Legion was applied to the MITM P&L. Feedback from community was good.

- Oct. 15th @ 7am Lake Mills Rotary Foundation Meeting at Nicole Froehle’s office.
- Teacher of the Month will be recognized next week. 2 teachers will receive $200 check, value meal MC, subway Sub, value basket Culver’s, oil change. Rotary has committed to $2000 for the year and 3 local banks contributed $700 each to fund this award!
- Calendar Raffle committee meeting in 2 weeks at 11:30 am before the Rotary Meeting. Looking for new ideas and new sponsors.

- The Fall Festival Boot Stomp at Sunset Hill Farms—need volunteers (ticket booth-sitting down, parking-on your feet, tractor driver for the hayrides. Proceeds help fund the Tammy Hafenstein Kuhl Scholarship Fund.

- Article in the paper…lower level of high school built in 1964. Still looks like 1964. Needs updated.
- Wood floor in lower level not functional as a competitive gym. Would replace this gym.
- Baird indicated that the cost to public with no additional tax impact since rates reduced. Prices will be lower and rates to borrow will be lower. Have not announced to public yet.

- Does this meet maintenance needs going forward?
- Facility assessment and engineers made a comprehensive list of all the maintenance items and growth items that could not be done in a normal operating budget. Selected priorities.
- $125,000 normal budget for regular maintenance annually. Not considered a big budget for our school district size.

- If referendum passes, when will it start?
- Sell bonds the same week approved.
- Bus barn is the 1st priority—need to purchase land. Will use local contractor for that. Rather than pay the premium for using Findorf.
- Elementary School next priority. 4k has 24 students per class right now.
- Drake Daily discussed housing to support growth from Amazon Warehouse and other groth in Madison/Milwaukee areas—Brookstone could expand (multi-unit housing discussed. Phase 8---18 lots to be done next year. One more phase left---18 houses. Still lack infrastructure north of interstate. Rock Creek only added 7 school age students, summer ridge not many school age students. Single family housing will have the biggest impact for school age kids in the area.
- Tonya-Trying to keep enrollment and staffing the same to keep funding that is available.
- Dist. still owns 33 acres near glacial drumlin trail…to be used for a new school in the approx. 10 yrs. +. Do not want to add the bus barn to this parcel due to safety concerns.
- At high school---the entire lower level and locker rooms need attention. Top level, band room and choir room need remodeled. The movable wall between the lunchroom and band/choir is part of 1963 build. Hard to get parts to repair. Needs to be replaced.
- Make a bigger/safer vestibule-similar to the elementary school.
