Dennis was a member of the LaCrosse After Hours Club and he truly represented "service above self".  Mick said that he leans on Jenn every week to help him with various things and everyone agreed!

PROGRAM
Bill Prichard - Rotary District Governor
Bill is seeing a lot of creativity across the district in solving issues brought up by covid.  Bill reviewed club history from the inclusion of women to their rise in organization leadership.  On  August 4th Jennifer Jones became the new president of Rotary International.  Part of the future of rotary is virtual opportunity.  Nearly all clubs are using zoom or go to meeting this year, while it was almost never used in the past.  Bill has seen school teachers joining rotary because they can attend virtually.

Bill would like us to create or reflect on a strategic plan for the club.

Reflect on why we exist and who we serve.  The world outside is changing.  How can we evolve to meet the needs of those people.

Our metrics:
We achieved our goal of rotary foundation donations which was $100 per member
Membership - 37 current members which is even for the year.  3 years ago we had 45 members.  We have gained 13 new members in the last 3 years.  In that time, we have only lost 5.  Bill believes we have a good club culture and are satisfying new members

Areas to improve:
The majority of members we have lost are newer members.  There is a difference in why we join rotary vs why we stay.  People join for business reasons, but stay for sanctuary from business.  Find out how to keep people staying.  He suggests educating new members as much as possible on what rotary is doing.  Bill's club has new members meet a few times over the course of a few months.  At the end of those meetings, he asks new members to join a committee.  They also offer a transfer to a different club that may work better.
