Jeff Okazaki - Humane Society of Jefferson Co
Solar power project was his initial reason to speak to help reduce electric costs. He was going to speak to us back in March to help fundraise, but they were able to fully fund the project, partly through the Lake Mills Area Community Foundation. It started in June and they have already saved oodles of energy. They are now able to save approx $1500 per month.
Pandemic response - opened a pet pantry to supply people with pet food who might be struggling to pay.
There has been a 40-50% increase in adoptions since the lockdown, and a 50% decrease in intake.
Increased cleaning supplies and operations and are using PPE appropriately
There are cats or kittens available now for adoption.
