Rotary Board Meeting Notes-
July 28th, 2026
Members present: Beth Naughton, Dean Westman, Nicki Kelly, Amy Litscher, Dan Sanft, Dan McCabe, and Carmen Weldon
Quorum present. Agenda approved
Membership:
-There has been a slight decline in membership, mainly due to changes in schedule, life circumstances, etc.
Dues update:
-Last invoice went out on July 7th. Another reminder will go out on August 7th.
-If you need help paying your dues, please let someone know. Most credit card payments are going through on Club Runner. There have still been a few glitches.
-Board members approved the addition of using Venmo as a form of payment (dues, concessions, donations, etc).
Financial Update:
-Dan provided an update on the profit/loss statement.
-We will be receiving money back from the credit card company and are just waiting for payment.
Correspondence:
-The Jefferson County Literacy Council is asking for donations for their 30th year anniversary celebration. The board voted to make a $300 donation to JCLC.
Pyramid 5K on Saturday, September 12th
-As of July 22nd, 33 participants have registered.
-We are hoping to have a minimum of 100 participants.
-We are looking into how many participants we had last year.
Board meeting time
-The board voted to move the monthly meeting time from 7:00-8:00 to 8:00-9:00. Meetings will still take place on the last Tuesday of the month at Farmers & Merchants State Bank.
Concession stands
-Great improvements from last year (key pad on the door, safe, panini press, etc).
-Fall Soccer dates are September 12th-October 17th (Saturdays). Volunteer information will be coming out shortly.
Community projects
-Rotary to sponsor a Halloween Costume Contest in conjunction with Witches Night Out.
-Stone Soup Supper in coordination with the Christmas Tree Lighting
-Beth is working with other local organizations (RLAC, Club 55, Optimist, etc) on ways to support each other’s events in the community.
Fundraisers
-Mark your calendars! Rotary has a Culver’s Night scheduled for Monday, October 5th from 4:00-7:00 pm. We will be looking for 8-10 volunteers to help out with this event. Another way you can help out is by eating at Culver’s in Lake Mills that night. A portion of the profits will be given to Rotary.
-Calendar Raffle-Sponsored by Farmers & Merchants again this year
-Lake Mills Market-Beth submitted an application for the Round Up program.
-We discussed the idea of Rotary sponsoring a pancake breakfast or brunch sometime throughout the year. We are looking at possible dates that might work.
Weekly meals
-We are still looking for someone to help coordinate the weekly meals. In the meantime, Beth will work with our food vendor to help coordinate this.
Miscellaneous
-Beth will be sharing a website for members to purchase Rotary apparel if anyone is interested.
-Nicki is looking into name tags for board members.
The next board meeting is Tuesday, August 25th at 8:00 a.m. at Farmers & Merchants State Bank.
Future agenda item: Discussion of donating Paul Harris points with members who make donations to the Rotary Foundation.
