Day Meeting Minutes - 10/22/19

Dave R opened the meeting at the Lake Mills EMS building at 12:20pm and led the group in the Pledge of Allegiance followed with the Four-Way Test.

  • Gerard - Son cross country race and got 2nd, conference finals 2nd all conference, 
  • Steve W - Soccer tournaments this week, fine for missing the picture
  • Dean S - Ran the state girls golf tournament over the weekend, girls tennis tournament over the weekend, saw a former student that had a lot of health problems in high school but was now looking really good
  • Amy L - Wine walk sold out in less than 30 minutes,  state tennis tournament and her son talked to channel 15 news
  • Scott E - UW beat Illinois in volleyball
  • Nicole - Olsen eye care grand opening today, Tyrenena Ladies club fashion show thursday night at city hall
  • Greg R - If you liked his book, write a review on amazon or goodreads
  • Becky - Harley played as a freshman in UW Stevens point football
  • Ed - Illinois win
  • Mitch - Jen doing a great job at the concession stand
  • Ann - The director of the rock river free clinic (Laurie) thanked us for our donation and the story was on the front page of the Daily Union
  • Mick - Ethan's football team won their conference.  Mick has 300 wine walk tickets he needs to sell (joking),

PROGRAM
Dawn - Assistant Governor of our rotary district, past president of Elkhorn 
- Spoke to us about human trafficking
- Wisconsin is number 3 in the nation and it is in all 72 counties
- Public awareness event in March for Lake Mills
- Social media has a huge role in human trafficking, as well as video games.  These platforms give predators access to the kids
- Some methods of reducing risk are: Limiting use of risky apps, phones in bedroom at night, safe internet use, 
- Her organization is preparing for future events where human trafficking is a known problem
