PROGRAM
Quarterly Business Meeting
- Board met yesterday. We plan to form a mentorship committee, headed by Mick. This will help "on board" a new member and get oriented and involved in the club. Mick also wants to put together a history of the club, including some of our past successes. Over the years, we sometimes forget the larger things rotary has done over time. As club historian, Mick will accumulate this information for preservation. Also over time as presidents have a term and move on, knowledge can be lost.
- Marketing committee will update new membership packets
- Presentation of the budget - Dan Sanft
We operate on a fiscal year that ends June 30th, so this budget is for the next fiscal year starting in July.
Meeting adjourned 1:00pm

1, Please tell us about yourself ( i.e. number of brothers/sisters, hobbies, interests, ect.)
My name is Hannah Link and I am 18 years old. I am the youngest of three siblings who also attended Lake Mills High School. I really enjoy music and performing on stage. I have been given the opportunity to be involved in choir, show choir, the fall musical, and the spring play throughout high school. I have enjoyed being very involved in many extracurricular activities throughout my high school career. Most of these activities have given me experience in community service, which I take great pride in. In my free time I like to play my ukulele and spend time with my friends and family.

3. Please list specific examples of your community involvement and service.
Link Crew gave me the opportunity to tutor at events like Cocoa and Cram as well as Lessons and Lemonade. TRI-M held events like caroling downtown and performing at the tree lighting ceremony during the holidays. There was one opportunity through show choir where a few of us performed at a grief ceremony. It was such a rewarding experience to bring some sort of peace with music to the grieving families. I would also volunteer by singing the National Anthem at basketball games. My junior year of high school I was inducted into National Honors Society where I was able to expand upon my community service. This carried on senior year when I was elected as president. This year I had to be very creative on how to plan certain events. For Veteren’s Day, the National Honors Society officers and I were able to put together a video giving our thanks. In this video we reached out to community members and people in our school to create a thank you message for the veterans.Through National Honors Society we also planned a fundraiser to raise money for the organization Christmas Neighbors.
4. What are your plans after high school graduation?
My plans after graduation are to further my education at a four year university. I am currently undecided between majoring in Business and Education. My entire life I have enjoyed teaching and explaining materials to my classmates. I love the feeling I get watching the work finally click for them and I am proud of myself that I was able to make
that happen. I am also interested in the teamwork and creative side of business. As a manager of the school spirit store I really enjoyed collaborating with the other managers. My freshman year of college I plan to explore both options and get more experience to see which I prefer. In the end, I just want to help others and have a positive impact on the world.
5. What do you hope to gain from your selection as Student Rotarian?
I hope to gain more leadership experience and expand upon my leadership skills. I look forward to meeting and communicating with members of the community. I think it’s really important to connect with more members of the community and am grateful for this opportunity.

Lakeside Lutheran's Carter Roekle is the son of Dan and Ellie Roekle of Middleton and has a younger sister.
In school he has been involved in National Honor Society, math meets, Operation Go and the STEM Academy, a curriculum that is design-based where rigorous academic concepts are incorporated with real world applications.
Roekle is a member of the Warrior soccer team where he has competitively played for all 4 years, 3 of which were on varsity. He was also one of the team's captains his junior and senior years where he helped strengthen his teammates through summer-led practices, and encouraged the team to push through adversity in the season. With the help of the team's hard work and his leadership, the varsity team won the WIAA regional championship his senior year. He is also involved in track, running long distance events.
Roekle has participated in various church activities including volunteering at local food pantries such as Second Harvest and Middleton Outreach Ministries as well as being a part of the Audio Visual team at St. Andrew in Middleton. He also volunteers beyond his local community through his engagement in mission trips all over the country. These places include Fredericksburg Virginia, Seattle Washington, and Anchorage, Alaska, where he helps run week-long Vacation Bible Camps in their local communities.
Following graduation, Roekle plans to attend Purdue University to major in mechanical engineering. While at the university he hopes to further his knowledge in design and fabrication principles to eventually pursue a career in the manufacturing industry.
Finally, he is very excited to learn more about the Lake Mills Rotary Club and its mission of “Service above Self” in order to make positive contributions in his local community.
