President Beth Naughton brought the meeting to order at 12:16pm. Pledge of Allegiance and 4 Way Test recited. Twenty one Rotarians were in attendance, one Rotarian on zoom plus three guests and four student Rotarians.

Happy Bucks:
Ed H. had family over the weekend and a shout out to Lake Mills HS football for winning the Slider Bowl.
Greg R. received an email from an author friend whose book could possibly be a Pulitzer Prize winner. Book will launch in October.
Student Rotarians noted their activities and future plans:
Lake Mills HS: Payton W. is the youngest of 5. She is involved with Interact, United Against Hate, yearbook, tennis and also works at the rec department. She plans to study speech pathology.
Katelyn Z. is an only child and lives on a farm. She is involved with Interact, NHS, United Against Hate, yearbook, tennis team and competes in archery.
Lakeside Lutheran HS: Elias S. resides in Fort Atkinson. He has 3 younger siblings. Loves to read anything about sports, is on the leadership team at LLHS, NHS, bible study, newspaper (writer and sports editor) and track. Plans to go into the medical field. His top 3 universities are: Marquette, Duke and Yale. Elias is also national merit scholarship finalist.
Tana H. lives in Sun Prairie and is an only child. She has 3 cats. Music is a huge part of her life. Participates in many bands and is clarinet section leader and involved in NHS. Plans to study business at UW-Madison or University of Chicago.
Club Business:
Concessions: Dan S. reported that for the summer season many games were canceled due to weather and several not made up. Net profit was approximately $1,500. Concessions are all set for Saturday. Need more volunteers as season continues. Sign up sheet passed around or sign up on Club Runner.
Volunteer coordinator is needed for Teacher of the Month program as soon as possible.
Rotary license plates are now available. Cost is $52.
The Mill is the Round Up recipient at the Market this month. A story was written about the Mill. Link will be included in the announcements this weekend.
Events:
September 12: fall soccer concession stand opens
September 12: Pyramid City Run/Walk. All proceeds benefit the LD Fargo Library Expansion.
September 17: Sex Trafficking Seminar at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. Doors open at 5pm. Program starts at 6pm. Day care is available. 5 booths will also be in attendance for trafficking prevention including Club 55 for grandparent digital information.
October 5: Culver’s Night Fundraiser (Social media post will be made encouraging families to have dinner at Culver’s) Sign up sheet passed around. Need 4 volunteers per shift.
Tim A. gave his introductory speech. He has lived in Lake Mills for 5 years, has 3 sons aged 30 and 29 (twins). Kids all live in Chicago and are all triathletes. Attended Southern Illinois University and played rugby. Also attended Arizona State University. Loves to act. He made commercials for GM. Decided to earn his doctorate in marketing so he could teach at the university level. Tim and Beth have traveled to all 63 national parks with their van and they both love Lake Mills.
