Searching for a new superintendent. There are 80 openings state wide. They have applicants already and applications close tomorrow. They plan to have someone hired by March with a start date of July 1. They have had a number of community forums to receive community input. After narrowing down the field to a few finalists, they will conduct interviews and also have another community forum so the community can meet and ask questions of the finalists.
I have two sisters. In my free time I read about science and history. I also like reading Stephen King. I like the outdoors. I enjoy fishing and hiking. I also enjoy sports my favorites are football and baseball.
In school I’ve been involved with interact and octagon Club freshman and sophomore year I also played varsity soccer both years. Junior year I worked at the Lake Mills Market. This year I’m working at American Eagle.
I'm involved in the community through my church. I’ve helped out selling pies and making easter egg baskets for kids on Easter. This year I started teaching fifth grade religious education at my church every week.
After I graduate from high school I plan on attending a four year university. I plan on majoring in actuarial science because I really enjoy math and science and I think I’m good at critical thinking and problem solving. I’m also considering pursuing a medical degree after college. I would like to pursue a career in medicine because I feel that my purpose is to help people and I think that I could best do that in a medical setting where I could help people feel better.
I’m excited to learn more about the service projects that the rotarians do. I’m also excited to learn more about what the rotarians do in the community and to meet the leaders of my community.

Ellyn Werner
I am Ellyn Werner, the daughter of Chad and Stacy Werner. I have one brother, Wyatt Werner, who is in eighth grade. I love anything and everything musical. I have a passion for singing, and I love to participate in solo voice clinics, choir camps, and I am a member of the Wisconsin State Honors Choir. In addition to singing, I love performing in musicals and I am a member of the CD Players Theatre and Heartstrings Rep Theatre. I have enjoyed playing piano for eleven years, and dance year round at Studio 3D.
I have been involved in the Musical (9, 10, 11, 12), Show Choir (9, 10, 11,12-Dance Captain), Drama Club (9, 10, 11, 12), TRI-M Music Honor Society (10-Historian, 11-President, 12), Solo and Ensemble (9, 10, 11, 12), National Honor Society (11, 12), Link Crew (11, 12) Junior Optimist Club (9, 10, 11, 12), and Tennis (10, 11-Captain)
I enjoy volunteering through the Junior Optimist Club at the high school. I love all the service opportunities it provides throughout the community such as kid programs at the library, Adopt a Family, Knickerbocker, Easter Egg Hunts, and the Fisheree. As a sophomore I was the WILS Representative, which helped me meet other student leaders and allowed me to volunteer in other communities throughout Wisconsin. Within my school I am able to help at many other service projects through National Honor Society, and music related work through TRI-M. I also get help my community through volunteering at dinners and festivals through my church, Saint Gabriel Parish.
After high school I look forward to pursuing a degree in Choral Music Education through either University of Minnesota, UW-Eau Claire, or Viterbo University. I hope to help students learn and develop a passion for music that carries with them throughout their lifetime.
While being a Student Rotarian I hope to learn how to be a member of Rotary once I am an adult. I believe the goal of Rotary is inspirational and a foundation that helps build a strong community while pursuing that same goal on a global scale, and I hope to be a part of this organization.
