Day Meeting Minutes - 08/03/2021

Brian W. opened the meeting at the Pyramid Event Venue at 12:15pm and led the group in the Pledge of Allegiance followed with the Four-Way Test.

CLUB BUSINESS - Announcements and committee reports

  • Joker Draw--joker lives
  • night meeting at Korth Park on Wed. will be discussing the Run Route--still need runners
  • Hwy cleanup-Aug. 18th
  • South side sign--Jose wants sign brought to his shop for completion
  • Interclub yesterday in Fort Atkinson-Brian W and Brian B, and Ed attended
  • Bartel's Beach
    • Parks committee voted to accept donation
    • Dist. ok'd $5000 grant
    • Next step - City Council to accept donation 
    • Base still in discussion
  • Board meeting this morning
    • Water project-add Solar Panels to provide power for water pump and filtration system
    • Possibly partner with District Rotary Clubs for fundraising
  • Jenn-update on Concession stand $1800-2000 approx. this season.  Last game was this week.
  • New Committee for March Facebook Raffle Fundraiser Coming Soon
  • Dr. Wishau-Aug. 24th meeting-2 week notice for nominations for Foundation Members--no term limits

WI is one of leaders in the nation!
 
Provides a uniform approach to emergency traffic control and scene management.  Helps provide the safest possible work environment for all Wisconsin incident responders, while minimizing the risk for secondary crashes. 
 
Traffic Management Center in Milwaukee
 
Attends Annual Conference for Traffic Incident Management 
 
Incident=Any non recurring event that reduces road way flow.

Pay attention to yellow flashing lights -just like you would an emergency vehicles
 
Goals...
Minimize the Risk for Responders
Reduce secondary incidents
Steer it clear/Quick Clearance
 
Lots of training - Train the trainer
 
Safety TIPS
1. Stay in your vehicle unless unsafe to do so.  When you get out of your vehicle...you are putting yourself at great risk.  
2. Always keep 1 eye on traffic...walk backwards if you can or sideways. 
3. STATE LAW--Move over or slow down if you see flashing light! 
4.511.WI.GOV-traffic info. shared up to the minute
5.  Stop for school bus with a stop sign out!
