Jim W - Spoke about the Rotary Foundation
The foundation was created in the 90s in response to a financial crisis. The club was unable to fund the number of scholarships that we promised. So, the foundation was created to make a vehicle for tax deductable donations from rotarians, but to also create an endowment that would some day fund a full scholarship. As of June, there is approx $91,000 in the foundation. It was first started with about $45,000. The club can make decisions on what to do with some excess funds.
