Discussed the meeting location options. Lewis Station, The Grist and Crawfish Junction were discussed as potential options. .We decided to go on the road to Lewis Station for our next meeting. So next meeting will be November 19th, 6 PM at Lewis Station Winery.
December 3rd is the cutoff for suggestions re: the Pyramid City Run cause for CY2026 NAMI SE (National Alliance for Mental Illness), Library, sponsorship of The Mill, JCLC (Jefferson County Literacy Council), put up stuff in own parks (accessibility), Jefferson County Veterans (little houses) Nichols Outdoor Learning Center All suggestions due by December 3rd.. Most suggestions have NOT been accompanied with contact information so it may take some time to review these suggestions and determine the best cause.
Discussed the Pyramid City Run and how it is organized. Determined to wait until the others can join the conversation.
It's FOUNDATION MONTH!! Money donated to The Rotary Foundation (not the Lake Mills Rotary Foundation) is what makes Rotary the powerhouse that it is. When Rotary Club members give, GREAT things happen. Like being THIS CLOSE to eradicating polio from the face of the earth! In addition to being good for the world, it can be good for the club. When club members donate a minimum of $100/person to the Rotary Foundation, the club becomes eligible for District Grants. Since District Grants allow our money to go farther (we can contribute a $5000 and get it matched, as an example), it is to our benefit to donate to The Rotary Foundation via the SHARE Program. Since it is Foundation Month, it is also the month that Sandee encourages folks to "pony up" by offering to match up to $500 of new giving per member (up to a maximum of $5000). The best way to give is via TRF direct. They simply take money out of your bank account each month. $10/month is less than 2 drinks at Starbucks. I know-my small tea today was almost $5!. So consider giving to the Rotary Foundation. If you don't know how, contact me. When donating on line, make sure you include your Rotary number-which can be found on your Rotarian magazine or on Club Runner.
