Speakers: Mike Kloss - 6250 District Governor. Mike works for Airgas in Eau Claire, WI. Mike grew up in a military family. He lived on base in North Africa as a small child.  He learned English, Arabic and French as a child. Graduated from Indiana University where he met his wife. They have 3 children. Mike and his wife were involved in Boy Scouts, band and sports as the kids grew up. Mike was a Boy Scout leader for many years working specifically on merit badges. As the District Governor, he is focusing on action plan: impact, reach, engagement and adaptability. Works on sustainability projects. The Charity Navigator ranks Rotary at the top. Seven areas of focus: peace building, disease prevention, water sanitation, maternal health, basic education, community development, protecting the environment. It is important to have a succession plan which keeps the club strong. Opportunities at the district level: membership chair, treasurer, youth exchange program chair.
The Assistant Governors role is to be the eyes and ears to help clubs and provide additional guidance. The Rotary Foundation has a new program with Club Runner. Tricon is April 2026 in the Dells. Great family event.
