4. What are your plans after high school graduation?
In the fall I will be attending UW Madison. I will be majoring in Biochemistry and I plan on earning a Biocore certificate (honors). After I earn my undergraduate degree, I plan on going to medical school to become an anesthesiologist. I am considering the Health Profession Scholarship Program through the army to pay for medical school.
5. What do you hope to gain from your selection as Student Rotarian?
Unlike many of my peers, my parents didn’t move to the Lake Mills area until after they were married. As a result, I don’t know very many of the prominent community members. I am excited to meet new people and make connections! I am also excited to get a better understanding of what Rotary does for the community.

Name: Kayla Will
1. Please tell us about yourself ( i.e. number of brothers/sisters, hobbies, interests, ect.)
My name is Kayla Will. I have two siblings, a sister Megan and a brother Brad. One of my favorite things is sports. I play volleyball, basketball, and track and field. Freshman year I tore my ACL, so I was out my Sophomore year of basketball and volleyball but joined the track team where I won 2nd team all-conference in discus and got first place in Regionals for shot put. This year I was named 2nd team all-conference in basketball and was a member of both this year’s first-ever girls basketball state championship team and last year's first appearance at state team. Some of my other interests include cooking/baking, snowmobiling, camping, and learning about history.
2. Please list all extracurricular activities that you have participated in and plan to be involved in this year. List all offices and the year of participation ( 9, 10, 11, 12).
I played volleyball and basketball all four years of high school and track since 10th grade. My freshman year I played soccer. I have also been involved in numerous clubs like the yearbook in 9th, 11th, and 12th grade; the newspaper in 10th, 11th and 12th grade; Junior Optimist club since freshman year; Interact in 9th grade; and SLAAC in
10th, 11th, and 12th. This year I also joined Model UN, SCAPE, link crew, and National Honor Society.
3. Please list specific examples of your community involvement and service. Throughout high school, I was involved in numerous volunteering activities that helped me better connect and help my community. I wrapped presents for families in need, assembled and hid eggs for the Lake Mills Easter egg hunt, assisted at the Lake Mills Family Winter Event, worked at the Rotary Park Concession Stand, and assisted at the Lake Mills Knickerbocker festival. I also helped out each summer with the Youth Girls Basketball Camp and as a Sophomore helped at the 7th-grade girls traveling basketball team tournament working the books and clock. I helped build the big wheels for the big wheel race during Town and Country Days, read to Lake Mills elementary school kids, and attended my church's Mission Trip during the summer of 2019.
4. What are your plans after high school graduation?
After High school, I plan to attend college to major in political science and continue my basketball career.
5. What do you hope to gain from your selection as Student Rotarian? I hope to gain experience interacting with community members in a new way that I wouldn’t have gotten otherwise. I also hope to learn more about what the Rotary club does and offers in our community. I will use the information from these experiences in the future by becoming an active member in the community I will eventually live in.
