Today they are hear to talk about the impact Alzheimer’s have on our community and how we can do to help everyone to feel comfortable.

1/3 will die from Alzheimer’s, 1/5 women will have alzheimers disease, and 1/5 men. This is an issue that is growing and only becoming more and more . Their ultimate goal is to find a cure for the disease, but until then, they are looking for tools to .

There are multiple types of dementia.

What is Alzheimer’s disease? Your brain is a filing cabinet. There is no cure for it or treatment, and it ultimately leads to death. As the disease progresses round – the – clock care is needed. Starting stages include memory loss, and eventually your entire body.

When someone has Alzheimer’s, there is a large effect on the family. Statistically, most of the time the daughter ends up being the caregiver for their loved ones with the disease. This leads to retiring early, taking FMLA, taking less time to care for themselves, and a decrease in social life. This disease affects everyone.

There are 5 signs to Alzheimer’s.
  • Memory loss disrupts daily life.
  • Challenges in planning or solving problems.
  • Trouble understanding visual images.
  • New problems with worlds in speaking or writing.

Early detection is important. Pay attention to any changes in memory, if you see any changes that are new act by discussing with the doctor, there are many things that can be done to help with preemptive memory care.

Treatments include medication, memory care work, employment support, and more.

It is important to maintain a healthy lifestyle, challenge your mind, get moving, eat right, control blood pressure, get good sleep. Take care of your health, and try to keep your mind active and engaged, this is the best way to prevent cognitive disease.
