Review of the Pyramid City Run was tabled until the next meeting (which will be held Wednesday, November 5th
Will, Sandee and Ken talked about the articles that we read as "homework" for today's meeting. It was agreed that the story about "time banks" was one of the best. (Folks volunteer time to help someone else with a project, earning time to put in the "bank" and "withdraw" when they need to ask one of the other users of the bank for help in return). The barter system at its best! This generated a discussion of one of the old fundraisers...the Service Auction. (At this type of auction, we used to auction off time to be used to rake leaves, or people would buy a loaf of bread each month and it would be delivered to them etc. Haven't seen those for a while but it was always fun to "buy" the services of the local dentist or mayor to rake leaves or wash the car!)
Had some general conversation about the club and where we should meet if we want to have a presentation. General consensus was that at night, we should try to have it somewhere people can relax and have a drink and/or food if possible.
