PROGRAM
Jenny enjoyed her President Elect Seminar (PETS Training). The training really resonated with her and made her feel like "she was in the right place, and at the right time". She felt so proud to be a Lake Mills Rotarian as we have a vibrant club and do not have a lot of the same issues that other clubs are having. Jenny learned about fundraising ideas and "break-out" sessions that helped her with new ideas. She is going to volunteer at other club events to support and gain more information that she can pass to our club.
Something that really stuck out to her was a session about Health and Wellness.

Jenny is personally on physical and mental health journey, and something that she would love to implement  this year is how to extend this sort of help within our community. How can we show our community that every person matters and help end the stigma that asking for help is not a bad thing. This is going to be a large focus this year. We will look into our community and see where we need support whether it is mental health, addiction, domestic abuse, and the feeling of isolation.

At this meeting we implemented a couple of exercise that Jenny participated in at her seminar. We did box breathe work and an exercise where we made eye contact with the person next to us and let them known that they were "seen".

Jenny would like to see our club be even more inclusive. We can help different minded, different preferences, different abled people feel more included in our community through Rotary. An easy way to do this is just to think about and consider the "Four Way Test" that we site at every meeting. "Is it the truth, Is it fair to all concerned, will it build good will and better friendships, will it be beneficial to all concerned". We need to start thinking about how we can better cater to all, not just within the club but everywhere.

A question to think about is "are you a club member or are you a rotarian". Jenny asked members to discuss this within our group. Sandee mentioned that she believes that a club member shows up, a rotarian actually does something! She used to be a club member until attending a national conference, that showed her how much of an impact she can make. We are welcome to ANY Rotary Club anywhere. How special is that?!

What happens if someone wants into Rotary, but can't afford it? The lowest cost is $50 a quarter. This is something to think about.
