day Meeting Minutes - September 15, 2026

September 15, 2026

President Beth Naughton brought the meeting to order at 12:16pm. Pledge of Allegiance and 4 Way Test recited. Twenty two Rotarians were in attendance, two Rotarians on zoom plus three guests and four student Rotarians. 

Happy birthday to Kyle J.

Happy Bucks:
Ed H. said the concessions went well last Saturday. Ed also welcomed back the honor flight into Madison.

Janine F.’s birthday is coming up and she went on her longest bike ride (60 miles).

Andy B. had fun at the Pyramid City Run cheering people and his son had his first cross country event and did well.

Anita M. put up posters around town the the sex trafficking seminar (Thursday). Posters are still available to hang, 

Jim W. said he is a little heavier and his wallet is a little lighter after trip to Door County. 

Jennifer J. was happy to be back visiting as a guest.

Steve C. leaves this week for a trip to Canada with friends. 

Beth N. and Tim had a reunion with friends they met on Tim’s cross country bike ride. Had a great weekend.

Tana went to a concert at Alpine Valley with her family and saw Pit Bull.

Student Rotarians Fun Facts

Lake Mills HS: Payton W. left the state for the first time in 10 years. Visited Minneapolis with friends and went to a concert.

Katelyn Z. is taking EMT classes and passed her 1st exam.

Lakeside Lutheran HS: Elias S. has 120 first cousins. (Mom is one of 18 kids) 

Tana H. likes cats but is also allergic to cats. Her cat Pepe is a girl but thought she was a boy. 

Club Business:

  • Thank you to all who helped with the Pyramid Run last Saturday. Raised $11,000 for the library expansion.

  • Reminder to please pay dues as soon as possible by check, credit card or Venmo.

  • Night meeting is Wednesday, September 16 at Tyranena Brewery beginning at 6pm.

  • 2 volunteers are needed this Saturday for the concession stand. Sign up sheet went around. Ed H. asked about splitting concessions into 2 shifts. 

  • Sex Trafficking seminar is this Thursday at St. Paul’s Church from 6pm-8pm.

  • Clawking is Friday at noon. Meet at Agency Insurance office. 

  • Culver’s Night for Rotary is October 5.

  • October is Polio Awareness Month. Jefferson Rotary challenged Lake Mills and For Atkinson Rotary to donate $1,000 from each club to help fight polio. Motion made by Jim W. to use the Culver’s Share Night proceeds towards the $1000 polio donation. Second by Janine. Motion carried. 

  • Calendar Raffle sponsor sheets are now available. Committee members will visit businesses and ask about sponsoring the raffle. 

  • International Rotary Convention sign up opens September 17. Sign up early for discount.

Dr. Lisa Smith, physical therapist from Optimal Physical Therapy spoke about bone health.
