Day Meeting Minutes - 4/12/22

 Brian W opened the meeting at the Pyramid Event Venue at 12:15pm and led the group in the Pledge of Allegiance followed with the Four-Way Test.

  • Janine - Baseball season started and her son pitched against Lake Mills in an "almost" no hitter
  • Greg - Friend of Pat McBridge, fellow author, who spoke at our assembly.  Pat will be speaking again at Day Dream Believer Books on Monday at 6pm
  • Ken - Attended first reveal party ever, for his grandson
  • Tara - To Eli for zoom support for rotary meetings.  She also attended an Elton John farewell concert and a conference for women in auto care.
  • Mick - Announced his retirement from LMPD will be July 5th
  • Tanya - Attended her granddaughters 7th birthday at Chuck E Cheese.  Also enjoyed the school play and complicated the students on their amazing performance
  • Brian B - Happy to be at Rotary during this busy time.  He also was able to have lunch with his son who is in the air force.  They haven't been able to seen him in awhile
  • Ed - Complimented the students on their performance in the school play.  Also thanked Brian W for a donation that covered an unexpected charge we received for the Goragon India water project.

CLUB BUSINESS - Announcements and committee reports

  • We heard introductions from our student rotarians
  • The Goragon India water project has officially started
  • April 20th highway cleanup on HWY 89 N, and HWY G N.  5pm, need volunteers
  • LM Market Roundup is benefitting rotary this month
  • Calendar raffle winners: $100 to Fridge.  $50 to: Monica Meyer, CJ Otto, Wendy Brockert, Lindsey Schaub 
  • Post Prom - Sat April 23rd at the bowling alley.  A signup went around for volunteers.  Also needs donations (of gift cards) or baked goods
  • Hanging Basket sale upcoming for mothers day.  Ace would like to presell as many as possible
  • Bartels Beach playground has had gravel laid down
  • Foundation Meeting Monday April 25th at 7am at Nicole's office
  • Scholarships have all been turned in and the committee will review them soon

The Aging & Disability Resource Center’s vision is to equip, empower and engage individuals living with disabilities, seniors and their caregivers, by connecting them with the supports and services in their community while honoring their ability to make informed choices.

Our mission is to help people achieve their goals by providing them with comprehensive information so they can make informed decisions, and advocacy support to ensure that they remain in charge of their lives. 
 
- They serve adults 60+
- Call center Q/A hotline.  They field 600-800 calls per month
- Options counseling for long term care programs
- Dementia care specialists
- Dementia training for businesses
- Nutrition programs and meals
- Caregiver support programs
