Ann was happy to report Eli Wedel was voted best photographer in the area.
She also had happy bucks for her family road trip to California and happy that everyone is still on speaking terms.
Ann paid two dollars in fines for her and Greg R’s picture in the paper.
Tara was happy to celebrate the anniversary of her parents with many of her family members.
Jenn was happy that this Saturday would be the last race for her daughter before starting high school. Her daughter may also be playing a softball tournament following the race.

Dave has spent the last two weeks moving and is grateful for the help of family, especially his brother, Mark and oldest son’s girlfriend. He also celebrated his 22nd anniversary and now knows that the 22nd anniversary gift is a condo.
Ed is celebrating his first week of the current living arrangement where at age 60 he moved in with his mother. He also celebrated his wife and daughter’s birthdays.
Greg W celebrated his 44th wedding anniversary.
After remodeling their kitchen, Randy only has one dollar left for his happy buck.
Greg R has been invited to speak at the Madison West Rotary Club this Friday.

ANNOUNCEMENTS
Mitch reported ticket sales for the Wine, Chocolate, and Cheese Tasting are at the same level as last year. He would like to see attendance improve from last year and appealed to the members to push ticket sales. The event will be better than last year with more vendors. To keep them coming back, we need to ensure we have a good crowd.
Jenn reported that the blue ribbons have drawn a lot of attention with over 50 scans of the code so far.
Jenn informed the club that Wednesday was the last day of softball games at Rotary Park.

Dean Sanders has taken a leave of absence, so someone was needed to fill his position on the Lake Mills Rotary Foundation Board. Three members volunteered to fill this position. Dave Roedl will step in to fill the position for the rest of Dean’s term.
August 8th will be the city band concert that we sponsored. Members are encouraged to attend. And if anyone would like to set up a table to promote out club, let Ann know.
Our district grant has been approved for the tree-planting project. They will match our $2500 commitment to the project. The project will get underway this fall with help from the city and the Elm Club.
Ann encourages members to invite a friend to one of our meetings. We’re always looking for new members.
Jenn wanted to let everyone know that John Black has not been around lately as he’s been helping his mom deal with illness.

Sandee Macht shared her experiences at the Rotary International Convention in Toronto. 40,000 people were in attendance.
Sandee began her presentation by encouraging everyone to attend the district conference next year in Ft Atkinson when Edwin Bos is District Governor.
Sandee’s favorite things at the International Conference were the opportunities for fellowship.
She pointed out there were numerous dignitaries including Bill Gates who gave moving presentations. There were opportunities for information on almost anything clubs might be interested in pursuing in the Rotary Action Groups, or RAGs. Polio was a huge focus of the event. 2.2 billion children have been immunized. The Gates Foundation has donated 450 million dollars in matching funds.
Another focus was clean water, since clean water and sanitation impacts wellness and educational opportunities.
Sandee talked about an initiative by the Bahama Rotary District to provide clean water to all of Haiti by 2030.
Rotaract celebrated their 50 year anniversary.
Sandee and Josh, her husband, have already signed up for next year’s International Conference in Hamburg Germany. She encouraged us to attend as it’s an amazing experience.
Sandee closed by informing the club about our district’s Million Dollar Journey where $1,580,137 was raised. $80,035 went to Polio Plus and with The Gates Foundation matching funds, a total of $240,105 went to the eradication of polio. $681,054 went to the endowment fund which provides additional monies for District projects (both local and international)
